Instagram DM drip campaign
People comment the keyword and then forget. A drip, in this product, is the first DM plus one nudge if they never tap. It is not a 12-message sequence to your whole follower list.

The problem
You post “comment GUIDE and I’ll DM the checklist.” Twenty people comment. You reply to six. The other fourteen never get the link, and the ones who do get it at midnight when you finally open the app.
A drip campaign is the fix only if it answers the people who asked. It is not a license to message everyone who follows you. DripDM has no broadcast to inactive followers.
What the sequence actually is
Message one is the private reply to the comment. Meta allows one private reply per comment, inside the window they set. Message two, on Pro, is the nudge. That is the whole drip.
If you need a week of branching messages, buttons, and a WhatsApp handoff, this is the wrong shape. ManyChat and Wati are built for longer sequences. The comparisons are linked below. Use them when one nudge is not the campaign.
Example: the checklist Reel
Caption: “Comment GUIDE and I’ll send the 5-step launch checklist.” Keyword GUIDE, match Contains, so “guide please” still hits. Public reply: “On its way.” DM: “Here’s the checklist:” plus the link.
On Pro, the nudge a few hours later says “Still want that checklist?” and includes the link again. If they already tapped, the nudge does not send. Watch is that Reel, not every post, so an old giveaway does not fire.
The same offer on a story
A story version uses the Story reply trigger, not Comment keyword. Story scope is Any story, One story, or Next story. There is no keyword field on a story rule. Anyone who replies or reacts, within the story scope you set, can get the DM.
That is a wider net than a keyword. Use it when the story sticker says “reply and I’ll send this,” and you are ready for every reply. Keep the Reel on Comment keyword so only GUIDE fires.
Set up an Instagram DM drip campaign in DripDM
Create a comment-keyword rule, send the promised link, and add one follow-up nudge on Pro.
- 1
Connect the Instagram account
Sign up, then connect a professional Instagram account with Meta login. DripDM does not ask for the Instagram password.
- 2
Create a comment keyword rule
Open Automations, then New rule. On step 1, Trigger, choose Comment keyword. Set the keyword to GUIDE. Set Match to Contains. Set Watch to one post or Reel, or to Next post or Reel if the post is not live yet.
- 3
Write the two messages
On step 2, Message, add a short public reply such as “Sent, check your DMs.” Put the checklist link in the DM. The public reply is optional. The DM is the thing you promised.
- 4
Add one nudge on Pro
The follow-up nudge is a Pro feature. It sends one reminder if they do not reply or tap, and it cancels when they do. Free does not include the nudge. The first DM still sends on Free.
- 5
Review and launch
Step 3 is Review and launch. Nothing sends until the rule is on. Test from a second account: comment GUIDE, open the DM, tap the link.

Questions
In DripDM it is an automated first reply plus one reminder. The trigger is a comment, a story reply, or a keyword they send you. It is not a scheduled blast to followers who never interacted.

No. DripDM sends one nudge. For a longer branch, look at ManyChat or at LinktoDM’s conditional follow-ups, and keep DripDM for the simple reply.
Comment keyword, Story reply, DM keyword, or Page message. Page message is a Facebook Page and starts on Pro. For this campaign you want Comment keyword.
Every post and Reel, one post or Reel, or the next post or Reel. Turn a next-post rule on before you publish, then open Automations to attach it.
No. A like is not a trigger. They have to comment the keyword, reply to the story, or send the DM.
