Turn Instagram comments into leads

The lead is the person who asked you for the link. You ask them for an email in the DM. You do not download someone else’s followers.

What people mean by an extractor

Search results for an Instagram leads extractor usually promise a list of strangers: followers of a big account, emails guessed from bios, a CSV you did not earn. That is not a DripDM feature. There is no button that pulls another creator’s audience.

The lead you can keep is narrower. Someone comments LIST on your post. You DM them and ask for an email. They type it. DripDM stores that value, with the rule that asked for it. They opted in by replying.

What the DM looks like

Caption: “Comment LIST for the weekly notes. I’ll ask for your email in the DM.” Public reply: “Check DMs.” The private ask: “Reply with your email and I’ll send the notes.” Success: “You’re on the list. Here is this week’s note:” plus the link.

If they reply “sounds good” and not an email, they get one retry. They do not get the link until the field is valid. Free includes this, up to 10 captured leads. After that the capture stops until you upgrade or you are on a new allowance. Pro is unlimited leads.

Where the lead goes

You read it in Contacts. Business can send new leads to Google Sheets after you connect Google. A normal contacts CSV is a separate download. Direct Meta Ads audience export is off, so this is not an ads upload.

An email in a DM is not a newsletter signup for every future product. Say what the address is for. DripDM does not send the newsletter. Export the address into the email tool you already use, if you have permission to email them.

Write the ask in the caption

Tell them in the caption that the DM will ask for an email. “Comment LIST and I’ll send it” is a weaker promise than “Comment LIST. I’ll ask for your email, then send the notes.” People who do not want to share an address simply do not comment.

Do not ask for a postal address, a payment card, or a health detail in this DM. Email or phone is the field list. Anything else belongs in a form you link, on a site you control.

Capture a lead from an Instagram comment in DripDM

Turn on Capture lead on a comment keyword rule so a person who asks for your link can reply with an email.

  1. 1

    Start from a comment keyword

New rule, Trigger, Comment keyword. Use a keyword you printed in the caption, such as LIST. Match Contains. Watch the post you are promoting.

  2. 2

    Turn on Capture lead

In the message step, check Capture lead. Choose Email, Phone, or Email or phone. The ask replaces the link message. A bad reply gets one retry.

  3. 3

Write the ask and the success DM

Ask for the address in one sentence and say what you will send. The success message can include the link tag. That is the message they get after a valid email or phone number.

  4. 4

    Review and launch, then test

Review and launch, switch the rule on, and comment from a second account. Reply with a real email. Confirm the contact appears under Contacts and the success DM arrived.

  5. 5

    Stay inside the free cap

Free stores 10 captured leads and 100 contacts. Pro removes those caps. The lead still has to be someone who replied. The plan does not add a scraper.

Questions

No. It does not extract followers, scrape bios, or export another account’s audience. It stores an email or phone number that a person replies with, after they comment or message you.
