Campaign operations
Automate giveaway information, not winning.
A giveaway creates repeated questions about entry, deadlines, and prize delivery. Messaging automation can explain the process. It cannot make a promotion lawful, decide eligibility by itself, or guarantee someone wins.

Define the organizer’s job first
Separate administering your own promotion from entering somebody else’s promotion. DripDM comment rules can respond to eligible activity on connected-account content. They are not a mass-entry service that posts comments across unrelated giveaways. Do not use messaging copy to imply automatic winning, unlimited entries, or a privileged relationship with Instagram.
Before configuring a reply, establish the campaign owner, prize, entry method, closing time, and selection process. Identify who handles disputes and fulfillment. Keep these facts in an authoritative rules document. Automation should deliver that document or explain a narrow step. A successful message send is not proof of entry, eligibility, selection, or prize delivery.
Publish rules that people can inspect
Instagram’s Promotion Guidelines place responsibility for lawful operation on the organizer. They address official rules, offer terms, eligibility requirements, and applicable regulations. They also require a participant release of Instagram and an acknowledgment that Instagram does not sponsor or administer the promotion. Obtain appropriate review for your actual campaign and jurisdictions.
The guidelines prohibit inaccurate tagging and encouraging inaccurate tagging. Do not invent entry mechanics merely because they might increase visible activity. Put eligibility, deadlines, selection, notification, and any required disclosures where participants can read them before entering. This article is an operational checklist, not legal advice or certification that a giveaway satisfies every applicable requirement.
Make the first reply useful on its own
Use a distinctive keyword on the relevant post and describe exactly what the private reply provides. An illustrative invitation is: “Comment RULES for the giveaway details.” An illustrative reply is: “Here are the rules and closing time. Read the eligibility requirements before entering.” These examples deliver information without announcing that every commenter is an accepted entrant.
Meta allows one private reply to an eligible comment within seven days of that comment. Live comments have a separate during-broadcast restriction. Further ordinary messages require the recipient’s response and must respect the applicable window. Do not configure an entry explanation as the start of an automatic promotional sequence. Check that the first message contains the essential destination.
Keep campaign participation separate from marketing consent
Someone asking for giveaway rules has not necessarily requested ongoing sales messages. Meta Developer Policies require legally sufficient messaging opt-in and immediate respect for opt-out requests. State what information you seek and why. Do not silently convert a campaign question into permission for unrelated future contact.
If your process needs an email address or delivery details, explain that step and request only necessary data. Keep winner verification and sensitive information out of public comments. A captured contact record is not a complete entry ledger or evidence of broad consent. Exported files become separate copies that need appropriate handling. Direct Meta Ads audience export is unavailable in DripDM; do not include it in campaign promises.
Test the information path and the exceptions
Test the chosen keyword from a separate profile before announcing the campaign. Check the post, connected account, destination URL, and recipient message. Confirm that a nonmatching comment does not get the giveaway response. Read the rules on a phone and check that the deadline includes an understandable time zone.
Assign a person to handle missing messages, ambiguous entries, impersonation reports, and eligibility questions. A participant may need to check message requests. Do not tell them to post private data to force a retry. If repeated questions reveal confusing rules, revise the source document and message together. Preserve a record of material changes rather than quietly changing selection criteria after people enter.
Close the workflow deliberately
At closing time, stop presenting an active invitation to enter. Disable or revise the relevant rule and update the public post and destination. Do not assume the workflow understands a campaign deadline unless you have configured and tested that behavior. Keep an accessible explanation for late questions.
Choose winners through the process stated in your rules, outside any unsupported messaging feature. Verify notification identity and use an appropriate permitted contact route. Do not announce that DripDM selects winners or fulfills prizes. Review what campaign data still serves a legitimate purpose and handle deletion requests through the appropriate process. An orderly close matters as much as the launch response.

No. This workflow concerns an organizer’s participant information. It does not provide mass-entry comments, automatic winner selection, or a guarantee of winning.
No. The eligible comment supports one private reply under Meta’s documented conditions. Ordinary follow-ups require the recipient to respond and must remain within the applicable messaging window.
No. Organizers remain responsible for rules, eligibility, applicable promotion requirements, and consent. Get appropriate review rather than treating software as legal approval.
