Auto-reply tools, with and without AI.
A keyword rule is enough when the answer never changes. AI is for questions that share a topic but not a single word.

DripDM’s split
Free and Pro send the text you wrote. Growth adds a model, a goal, and 1,000 credits. Emoji-only messages are skipped so the model is not spent on noise.
Choose generation only where wording needs to vary
A keyword reply can be exact, inexpensive to reason about, and easy to test. If every recipient requests the same file, adding AI may only introduce variability and credit usage. Generated replies become useful when customers ask materially different questions within a well-documented topic. DripDM lets you keep fixed rules and selectively enable AI, rather than treating the entire account as an autonomous sales agent. Compare tools on how clearly you can define that boundary.
A workflow to try
List the questions from a sample of real inbound messages without pasting sensitive customer details into a public tool. Group them into exact-link requests, factual variations, and requests requiring a human decision. Use fixed text for the first group, consider an AI rule for the second, and route the third to a person. Test all three paths with independent sample interactions. A preview should include off-topic wording and a missing fact, not merely repeat the keyword you already know matches.
Checks before you change the setup
Inspect rule overlap and fallbacks before enabling the model. Do not assume a product guarantees only one reply across every overlapping configuration without testing it. Topic matching can reserve credits independently from reply generation in DripDM, and previews reserve one credit. If the balance is exhausted, the live service can return the saved static template. That makes the quality of static text important even on an AI-enabled plan. Compare rivals using their own current metering terms.
Set a promotion threshold for model use
Describe the point at which you would replace a fixed response with generation: customers ask several supported variations, the note covers them, and previews show useful accurate answers. Describe the point at which you would stop: a disputed policy, recurring fabricated facts, unsuitable language, or a sensitive question beyond the business’s documented scope. Keep this decision under a named owner rather than allowing every campaign to enable AI by default. Inspect non-generated paths too. A model feature is worth buying when it improves a verified customer job; it is not intrinsically better than exact wording for a repeated request.
Questions
Yes. Keep a keyword rule for the offer. Turn AI on for a support rule that needs the knowledge note.
No. The free reply-draft tool produces editable template suggestions in your browser. It does not read incoming Instagram messages or send replies. Live generated replies are an optional Growth or Business capability configured on an eligible automation rule.
The implemented service can use it when AI is unavailable for a plan, input is noise, or monthly credits are exhausted. A good generated answer does not excuse an unclear or stale non-generated response.
