Free tool
Build an ig.me link.
A link in the form https://ig.me/m/username opens a message to that account when Instagram allows it.
3 minute read
DM link
https://ig.me/m/yourname
This opens a message thread with that username in the Instagram app when the account allows it.
How to read the result
This does not bypass a closed inbox. It only builds the URL.
The tool runs in your browser. It does not send the numbers to DripDM.
Create a route to an inbound conversation
Enter the intended Instagram username, then copy the resulting ig.me/m/username URL. The widget removes a leading at-sign and unsupported characters, so inspect the final username rather than assuming a pasted profile URL was understood correctly. The result is a link destination, not a message sent by DripDM. Opening it depends on Instagram, the client, login state, and the target account’s messaging settings. It does not override a closed inbox or establish that a person has contacted you.
Using the inputs and result
Place the link on a public surface where people can choose to open the conversation, such as your website or an appropriate bio destination. Explain what they can ask once they arrive. Test the link on a phone and in a browser using an independent account, and confirm the recipient identity before publishing. If the business changes username, update the link wherever it appears. Avoid placing private customer information into the URL or claiming it pre-fills a message when this widget only builds the account route.
Limits and result checks
A click opens a messaging route where supported; the person must still send an eligible message before you rely on the ordinary response window. If the link fails, check the cleaned username, account availability, app behavior, and recipient settings. A generated URL does not connect the account to DripDM or enable a rule. Configure the inbound keyword response separately and test the complete interaction. Keep a public contact alternative for people whose client cannot open the route.
Maintain the link wherever the username appears
Keep a record of public surfaces using the generated destination, especially your website, bio page, printed materials, and partner pages. Recheck them when the account handle changes or messaging settings change. Test from a customer’s view and preserve an alternative contact route. A valid-looking ig.me URL is not evidence that the person sent a message, so avoid triggering a private follow-up from a mere web click. Configure the separate inbound rule around the message the customer actually chooses to send.
Questions
No. Copy the result into your caption, bio, or a DripDM rule.
No. This generator builds the destination URL. The person still chooses whether to contact the account in Instagram. Do not count a link click as an inbound message, a completed conversation, or permission to send unrelated automated outreach.
Enter the actual username and inspect the cleaned result. The widget strips unsupported characters rather than interpreting every profile URL format. Verify the recipient identity in the final link before putting it on a public surface.
