Put the affiliate link in the DM, not the caption.

A caption full of links is hard to tap. A keyword comment can send one tracked affiliate URL.

A affiliate marketers flow

Keyword: DEAL. The DM sends one tracked affiliate URL.

The public reply can say the message is in their DMs. The link stays private.

What to turn on

Use a UTM link from the free tool, or a DripDM short link, so you know which Reel sent the tap.

  • One keyword per offer so the taps stay separate.
  • A public reply that does not contain the affiliate link.
  • Click counts on every plan.

Pricing

Free is $0 for 1 account and 1,000 DMs a month. Pro is $9. Growth is $14 and adds AI. Business is $29 and adds 10 accounts, 5 seats, optional Sheets sync subject to provider authorization. Direct Meta Ads export is currently unavailable.

Make the affiliate handoff transparent

A product comparison Reel can use DESK for the exact accessories discussed. If the Reel is not published yet, choose Next post or Reel and turn the rule on first. Name the products in the DM and disclose the affiliate relationship wherever your rules require it, including the destination. Keep offer-specific URLs so a tap can be traced to the campaign rather than mixing every promotion into one short link. For several options, Pro product cards can present a curated selection; they do not provide automatic price or stock synchronization.

Do not promise that a discount still exists unless you have checked the merchant page. Refresh messages when a coupon expires and leave a non-gated route for required product information. DripDM click counts are not affiliate commission reporting: the merchant decides purchase attribution, cookie duration, refunds, and payout. Avoid presenting collected emails as permission for any future promotion. Choose email capture only if you operate a consent-aware list outside DripDM.

Prepare a test before asking your audience

Connect an eligible professional Instagram account through Meta login, or a Facebook Page on Pro or above. Select the intended account before editing a rule. Confirm the destination opens on a phone and that the offer matches what the caption promises. Use a second, eligible account for a real trigger test; an editor preview cannot prove provider delivery.

Inspect the public reply, private message, and destination separately. A successful public reply does not prove that the DM was delivered. Keep a record of the test time and inspect activity when something fails. Check permissions and rule scope before repeatedly triggering the same recipient. Disable a stale campaign rather than leaving an expired offer running.

Select capacity without overpromising the product

Free includes one account, 1,000 DMs per month, 100 contacts, and 10 captured leads. Pro is $9 per month for three accounts and adds the follow gate, one follow-up nudge, scheduling, product cards, older-comment replay, and Facebook Pages. Growth is $14 for three accounts with 1,000 monthly AI credits. Business is $29 for ten accounts, five seats, and 2,500 AI credits. Paid messaging, contact, and lead quotas are uncapped in the plan configuration; Meta restrictions still apply. Sheets is a Business entitlement and needs provider authorization. Direct Meta Ads audience export is disabled, including on Business.

A comment can qualify for one private reply, subject to Meta eligibility and time limits. It does not itself open a general 24-hour conversation window. The recipient must reply before ordinary follow-up messaging can use that window. A link click or a new follow is not a substitute for an inbound message. Delivery also depends on account permissions, token health, recipient settings, and provider rate limits.

Questions

No. Check the affiliate network for attributed purchases and payouts; DripDM reports link activity, not merchant settlement.
